1. Rust
Free
The obvious must for a metal garden shed is
that it should be rust free.
Most are constructed in either aluminium,
well known for its resistance to corrosion or steel galvanised in a zinc
coating, the low cost, maintenance free option.
Look for words like rust free,
anti-perforation or anti-corrosion in the description or warranty information.
2. Choose
Colour
The great thing about metal garden sheds is
the range of colours available.
In the Gardens4Living range alone there is
the choice of green, beige and wood-look, and if you change your mind
thereafter, they are easy to spray or paint.
3. Security
Unlike wooden garden sheds, it is much more
difficult to attach security locks after purchase.
If security is important, look for a metal
garden shed which has a lock and key pre-fitted.
4. Windows
Obvious? Well, it depends.
Whether you have a window or not depends upon
what you are using it for and whether or not you intend to store anything
valuable in there.
Clearly if you are storing something valuable
but will not be working in there, you choose a metal garden shed with no
windows.
If you´re working in there but not storing
valuable items then possibly you should choose windows.
But how about if you are intending to work in
there and store valuable items?
Well, choose one which has sky lights or put
simply, windows in the ceiling which many often come as standard. This will
offer security from any burglars peeping in to spy his potential loot whilst
providing the light required to focus upon your work.
If you´re not sure from the specification,
then ask.
5. Size
Another obvious point; what is the
shed being used for, how much room do you need and how much room do you have
available to put it?
It´s no more complex than that!
6. Installation
Most metal garden sheds today are easy to
install using standard tools such as screwdrivers, spanners and allen keys.
They come with instructions and can easily be constructed in a day.
If you´re not sure, ask.
And if you´re really, really not sure then
select the Installation Service to ensure it is constructed correctly by an
expert.
7. Reputable
Manufacturer
There are only a handful of
manufacturers in the UK who make metal garden sheds.
Choose a reputable manufacturer who
offers guarantees.
Such manufacturers include Yardmaster
and Absco Sheds, both whom are supplied by Gardens4Living.
8. Capacity
to Add Extra Fixtures and Fittings
As with security locks, it is often more
difficult to add fixtures and fittings to a metal garden shed as opposed to a
wooden garden shed.
Choose a shed or manufacturer who makes
provision for such fitments and has them available.
They will usually have the right fitment,
made to measure.
And again, if you´re not sure, ask.
9. Delivery
Simple, will the supplier deliver in the time
that you need it and when they deliver, are they able to schedule an installer
at the same time (if required).
10.
Price
Do you really need advice on price?
Our advice, choose the best quality metal garden sheds at the best price.
At the same time to ensure that you are
comfortable with the supplier and that they offer robust guarantees.
